The work carried out on cylinder headsvaries from basic repairs to racing modifications. We offer a service from cutting one valve seat to a full refurbishment. The types of repair range from the customers requirements to the manufacturers recommendations and procedures. When a cylinder head comes through our doors the first thing we do is check the straightness of the head and the serviceability, this procedure is done FREE OF CHARGE. The next stage is to pressure test and clean the head by either hot pressure washing or bead blasting. When the head is clean valve guides may be replaced and any oversize quides made, valve seats can also be re-cut to the manufacturers specification, 3 angle seats cut and heads machined to accomodate larger valves, and valve seat inserts fitted for unleaded conversions. We are able to fit any valve insert size to any make of cylinder head including motorcycles.
Valves cleaned and refaced, larger valves made or modified to accomodate vintage and modern vehicles. Corroded heads can be welded and surface ground, all types of car and large commercial heads can be refaced on a "WHILE YOU WAIT" service. We are also able to offer chain stitching and welding of cracks.
The final assembly and resetting of tappet shims is the last stage of the process in getting your cylinder head back to an "AS NEW" condition.
Our specialities include fitting inserts to 3 litre and 41/2 litre Bentley blocks, also Alvis heads and most vintage vehicles.
