Remetalling & Lineboring

Reclamation is a Paynes speciality. These bearings were re-white-metalled and the crankshaft re-machined to suit. If reclamation is not possible, new backings and spacers can be manufactured, white metalled and machined to original.

Having carried out the specialist white-metalling and line boring, we can now proceed to re-assemble the crankshaft into the crankcase.

Main and Big end bearings

• Strip bearing shells or make bearing shells if required

• Cast white metal

• Re-fit shells into housings

• Line bore bearings

• Reform thrusts

• Recut oil grooves

• Make, fit and bore small end bushes

As well as re-metalling, we can arrange to have engine parts soda blasted to clean the parts. Washing with water after removes all traces of cleaning medium for safe assembly there after. Crankcases and cylinder heads can also be sent to a company for specialist sealing.
